THE MISSIONARY POSITION

About the Author
Kiana Opre is a Canadian-American writer who relocated from Regina, Saskatchewan, to Syracuse, Utah over 25 years ago–and never looked back. Now, she proudly claims the label of “Utahn.” For the last six years, Kiana has lived in Salt Lake City and built a career in the SEO/marketing space, holding roles ranging from copywriter to content strategist to managing editor. Prior to her time in the tech world, Kiana spearheaded her own anonymous sex and relationships column, “Sex and the Salt Lake City,” for the collegiate magazine Her Campus, publishing over 75 articles that worked to push the boundaries of purity culture and sex-positivity. Think Carrie Bradshaw, if she was raised by a Catholic, Canadian family living in Mormon Utah. Now, Kiana is making her debut with The Missionary Position, an experimental work of reported nonfiction, born from 239 interviews with 201 current and former members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Like Sex and the City is a love letter to New York, The Missionary Position is a love letter to her hometown: Salt Lake City, Utah.
